Dyed Soundorom is a Paris-born, now Berlin-based DJ & Producer who spends much of his summer on the island of Ibiza DJing his now four year residency at DC-10.

Throughout this year’s season, Dyed and his Apollonia allies Dan Ghenacia and Shonky are rotating appearances for the scheduled ten gigs at DC-10. Our girl Adrienne Bookbinder had the chance to talk with Dyed on The Burroughes rooftop in Toronto after his set at the Summer Daze party last Sunday, June 22nd.

Adrienne: How was your experience in Toronto headlining the Summer Daze party?

Dyed: I had an amazing time as soon as I arrived. The sound system was great, everyone was so friendly; it might be weird […] + Read More

Recently, we came across the Western Allure EP by the collective known as Botsi, coming from our friends at Hypnotic Mindscapes studios.

The EP, classified as reggae/dub, represents an eclectic offering of instrumentation and experimentation, as rhythmic bass lines guide the three-tracks from start to finish in the smooth and organic mix that we so often experience with a good narrative.

Moreover, it offers a prime example of what makes the Toronto music scene so great; the trio, consisting of JD Casas, Gabriel Mezzeti & Andres Galeano, are South American born Canadians, and the many cultural, geographical, and social influences they have been moulded by are quite evident in the tracks. Combining latin guitars with a contemporary western indie rock backbone, and a passion for electronic music is a formula that has been recently made popular by the likes of Darkside, but for our money, these three do it just as well.

Download the Western Culture EP for free!

Enjoy.
